If you want to create designs on Canva and sell them, you need to ensure you have the copyright to do so.
Most designs, including logos, will need some fonts in them.
That’s why you may be asking yourself the question: Are Canva fonts free for commercial use?
In other words, can you use any font you want in the Canva designs you want to create and sell?
In this post, I will answer the question of ‘are Canva fonts free for commercial use’ and provide complete details on the topic.
Are Canva fonts free for commercial use?
Yes! You can use most of the Canva fonts for almost all of the designs you create and sell without paying any fee for it.
You can use the Canva fonts for logos, social media templates, print templates, etc. without worrying about copyright infringement.
Which Canva fonts are free for commercial use?
Canva offers two kinds of accounts: Canva (free) and Canva Pro, and has a huge content library in both.
Canva free offers 25K + templates, 1+ million stock images, graphics, videos and audios, and most importantly, 1700 fonts that you can use to create your graphic or brand designs.
Canva Pro offers 610K+ templates, 100+ million stock content, and over 3000 premium fonts.
If you have Canva Pro, you can use all the 3000 fonts in the designs you create for commercial purposes.
If you have Canva free, then you will have access to only 1700 fonts, and you can use all of them for commercial use.

Restrictions on Using Canva Fonts
It’s great that Canva fonts are available for commercial use.
Are there any restrictions, though?
Here is what you cannot do with Canva fonts:
1. You cannot download Canva fonts
You can only use Canva fonts for the designs you create on Canva. There is no way to download fonts from Canva.
However, you can search for the fonts on Google, and download them from the respective website.
If they are premium fonts, you have to buy them and use them in your designs, which you can also use for commercial purposes.
The great thing about Canva is that it already includes the usage right of premium fonts in its subscription.
So as long as you create the designs on Canva, the fonts you use there can be used for free for commercial use.
2. You cannot use all third-party fonts for commercial fonts
Canva Pro gives you the option to upload a font to Canva and use it in the designs you create on Canva.
Read more about how to do this in my full post: Can you add fonts to Canva
You can also add the font to your Canva brand kit.
Canva does not include the copyright to use these fonts in your designs.
So if you upload third–party fonts to Canva and use it in a design, before you sell that design, you need to ensure that you have the rights to use these fonts in your commercial designs.
Canva will not be responsible if you get penalized for using these fonts in your Canva designs.
Should you use Canva fonts?
Canva is an excellent graphic design tool that you can use to create 40+ types of designs, logos, presentations, videos, audio, and more.
Besides the extensive library of stock images, videos, and templates, a big reason to use Canva is its collection of fonts that you can use for free.
So instead of paying for the font separately, you can just get a Canva Pro subscription which includes the copyright to use these fonts in all your designs.
